So many blog-worthy topics to write about… but recently I witnessed some of the biggest lies of the liberals in America that I had to share with you.   The big lie is  that the Democrats are the party of tolerance, civil liberties and women’s rights.

I have many (okay, several) friends who are Democrats- but they are mostly moderate. While we have had honest debates about the issues, never once have I been berated by a moderate. I wish I could say the same things about liberals….

 Besides hearing liberal talk on television, I’ve personally encountered only three liberals in my life. The first one was a self-avowed communist (although she settled for being a far left Democrat due to the fact that being a communist isn’t so PC in Texas). One evening I crossed “the line” and brought up the forbidden topic of politics while we were at dinner. It was then that this girl told me that it was a shame that I was a conservative, because all conservatives “hate poor people.”

Oh really?!?

I have been conservative since the moment I understood what it meant to be a “conservative”. I can honestly say that I have never had an ill-thought of those less fortunate that I. To the contrary, serving my community has been a priority in my life from a very young age. As an example, right after Hurricane Katrina hit, a college friend (and fellow Conservative) and I founded Bear Hugs With Love. Bear Hugs went from a small two town operation (Memphis & Houston) to a nationwide stuffed animal drive that collected and delivered over 10,000 stuffed animals to the youngest survivors of Hurricane Katrina. We even drove a van down to the Cajun Dome in Lafayette, LA and personally handed out over 1,000 stuffed animals.

I tell you this not for self-gratification, but instead to illustrate the massive liberal fallacy- that conservatives hate (or don’t care for) the poor. Molly was far off the mark, with her first prejudicial statement…don’t believe me? Let’s see what percentage of their wealth that liberals give to charity versus conservatives:

Senator John Kerry:
1996 Income: $143,795 (Gave $14,325 to charity)
1995 Income of $126,179 (Gave $0 to charity)
1994 Income of $127,884 (Gave $2,039 to charity)
1993 Income of $130,345 (Gave $175 to charity)

President George W. Bush:
1991 Income of $179,591. (Gave $28,236 to charity)

Yes, you read that correctly, for two years, despite making a six figure income, the great liberal Senator John Kerry gave NOTHING to charity.

How about the messiah- Barak Hussein Obama? From the American Spectator:

Barack Obama has a rather poor track record when it comes to charitable contributions. He consistently gave 1 percent of his income to charity. In his most charitable year, 2005, he earned $1.7 million (two and a half times what George W. Bush earned) but gave about the same dollar amount as the President.

I wish that the claims of “hating the poor” were the worst insults hurled at me simply due to my “conservative” label, but just last week, I mentioned to an individual that I was writing a political blog. This person quickly inquired if it was one of the “typical” Troglodyte (Cave Man), Xenophobic, Racist hate-mongering Republican blogs. Whew! This is the same person who informed me that it was ”a fact” that people who do not support amnesty for illegal aliens are racists.

Oh brother!

I must say that while I oftentimes disagree with the Democrat Party’s core platform, it never occurred to me to call them hate-mongerers, to insinuate that they are sub-human, or jump to the conclusion that they are racist. Unlike the Liberals I have encountered, I don’t “pre-judge” anyone, and I like to have an honest debate of ideas with those who have differing viewpoints. Unfortunately, from my experience, it appears that this is simply not possible with a liberal.

Don’t believe me?  How about in the 2008 election where the liberals absolutely destroyed Sarah Palin. Where was the party of women’s rights and the feminist movement? To the ordinary observer, it seems quite hypocritical that Democrats would preach about women’s rights and equality—but when a (gasp) conservative women is tapped as a Vice-Presidential running mate for only the second time in our history, the claws come out and the liberal media tears her to shreds.

My views on the intolerance of the liberals were again confirmed last week Sean Hannity had a panel of guests on his show to discuss Tim Tebow’s controversial Super Bowl ad. (The one where Tim Tebow’s mother tells her story about how contrary to her doctor’s advice, she chose not to have an abortion)

On the show, Jehmu Greene, President of the New York-based Women’s Media Center, made a comment (I’m paraphrasing) that any Pro-Life advertisement is actually Anti-Choice.

Let that sink in a bit….

In other words, the only message that is acceptable to Ms. Greene is pro-abortion. She insinuated that it is hateful and anti-Roe v. Wade to educate women about the success stories of women who chose not to have an abortion. How intolerant and one-sided!

Similarly, the Liberals are in a full assault against religion. Yanking down the Ten Commandments…trying to take a cross down from a veteran’s memorial in the middle of the Mohave desert…. In a totally liberal world, we wouldn’t be entitled to express our religious views. I think I’ve heard this before…ahem, Karl Marx? “Region is the opium of the people”… or Lenin: “Atheism is a natural and inseparable part of Marxism, of the theory and practice of scientific socialism”.

From what I’ve gathered over the past few years, Liberals seem to believe:

You should have free speech, so long as you say what the liberals want you to say.

You should have freedom of religion—so long as you are an athiest (or a Muslim).

Women should have equal rights- unless of course, you are a conservative woman… in which case- you suck.

Women should have the choice to do what they want with their body- so long as that does not involve not having an abortion and encouraging others to do the same.

But then again, what do I know?!?  I’m just a hate-mongering, xenophobic troglodyte…
